OAI's Worker Education & Training (WET) Department offers
cost-effective, innovative on-site training programs for a variety
of industries, with special focus on manufacturing. Our courses
are designed to quantifiably improve worker performance and
workplace productivity.
For over 16 years, WET has created and delivered customized workforce
development training to more than 160 companies and over 3,000
employees in the Chicago region. WET staff specialists assist
employers in all phases of program design and development, from
needs analysis and workforce skills assessment to customized
training delivery and evaluation of outcomes. Additionally,
our specialists regularly attend professional development workshops
and seminars to keep current on industry trends and developments
WET offers an extensive menu of training programs that respond
to the dynamics of evolving employer and workforce needs. To
achieve this, we collaborate closely with management and frontline
employees to design each training program. When necessary, we
leverage the expertise of our key strategic partners to expand
our capacity to address employer-identified skill gaps.
Our methodology for successfully developing and implementing
training programs within the manufacturing, healthcare, and
service sectors can be applied to a broad range of industries. Our

WET services are offered at highly competitive rates. Additionally,
funding subsidies of up to 100% of training costs may be available
from Federal, State of Illinois, or City of Chicago grant sources.
